(More customer reviews)My prior experience has been with carbn fiber tripods. Compared to other materials it is exceptionally strong and lighter in weigh than aluminum or other metals. I wanted to get a carbon fiber monopod, but I couldn't justify the higher price since most of my work is done on a tripod. When I came across this one, I couldn't believe the price. I ordered it immediately along with a mini ball head. I've used it with my smaller cameras (Canon G12 and Panasonic Experio 670 camcorder). I turn off the anti shake feature and I've been really happy with the results. I was particularly pleased when I used it with my camcorder at high telephoto settings.
This is so light weight, that I don't mind including it when I'm hiking or doing a lot of walking when I travel. I don't know how this would work with heavier equipment. I still just use a tripod on my heavy duty equipment. But for compact cameras or camcorders, it really does the job. This is a real bargain. Look at some of the other carbon fiber monopads, and you will rush back and order this one. I highly recommend this. (I also discoverd accidently that a museum I weht to wouldn't allow tripods. But they had no policy on monopods, so I was able to shoot with it).
I can't really come up with any "cons". It is light, compact, and does what it is supposed to do.
