(More customer reviews)The main reason for writing this review is to let others know that it works with the Nikon D3100. The first time I had to push in the connector a little harder than I felt comfortable doing, but no other problems with this remote. So far I've used it for taking pictures at 5 minute intervals for over 24 hours without a problem. The timing appears to be pretty accurate at least in the short term.
I gave it 4 stars, because I am very pleased with it. It works well, and is alot cheaper than comparable remotes. A longer cord, and an ON/OFF switch would be great. As it is you have to remove the batteries in order to turn the remote off. I was not too thrilled with the instruction manual. The translation isn't well done. As an example STEP 3 on connecting the MC (the manual references the remote as the 'MC') reads:
'Remove and remote cord socket termial cover from the camera. By connecting the camera shutter, and will shutter plug (1) The camera firmly connected.'
And that's verbatim from the manual, typos and all. To be fair the entire manual doesn't read like this excerpt. :)
Fortunately it only takes about 5 minutes of just playing around with it to figure out how it works.
