(More customer reviews)Purchased this kit with two needs in mind. Number one was my need for a functional and high quality camera bag for a Canon DSLR. The second need was an inexpensive yet useful tripod for imaging longer exposures. The cleaning kit, to me, was an added bonus and I having used it to clean valuable lenses I feel confident in the quality of it's components.
The bag is thoughtfully constructed using tough materials and strong seams. What impressed me even further was the clever way in which the bag was designed. It opens at the back meaning that the opening flap of the bag rests firmly against my back while wearing it. This initially came as a surprise to me as I must not have thoroughly read the bag's description before purchasing. At first I didn't like the "flipside" feature, feeling that it would be awkward. After much thought and consideration I feel that this design implementation prevents the bag from being unzipped and pillaged while on my person, thus dramatically decreasing the opportunity for theft if I were to become distracted on a train or bus. I also feel that this design decreases the chance of the wearer to put the bag on while it is still open. Furthermore the bag has the capability of holding a tripod on the front and a myriad of pockets for various accessories. All of these factors combined with ample storage space and a solid inner organization system make for a five star bag.
The tripod is constructed of light plastic and seems rigid enough for amateur use. It's light weight makes it a good choice for backpacking and the carrying case seems to have kept it clean and dry after several outings. This is NOT a precision tripod with fluid bearings and an unobtanium alloy frame. It IS a good starter tripod which functions admirably for the price of the kit.
As stated previously the cleaning kit was an added bonus to an already stellar kit. I am glad I went with Lowepro and will certainly choose their products in the future. Overall, I am very satisfied with the contents of this kit!
