Elinchrom EL 19360 Skyport Universal Trigger Set Review

(More customer reviews)I went back and forth for a long time prior to choosing Skyports over PocketWizards. The primary reason - cost (half the cost to be precise). I typically purchase top-of-the-line products for my bread-and-butter gear (which would mean I should purchase the PocketWizards), but for most users in most scenarios, the Skyports are just as good, if not better (check out specs between the two) than the PocketWizards. The PocketWizards can trigger lights up to 1500 feet, but let's be realistic. How many of you have ever needed to trigger anything that far (I'm sure some of you have, but it's so rare that it hardly can be considered a true value add for the average user). Also, the Skyports are significantly smaller and doesn't get in the way like PocketWizards, and as far as general build quality is concerned, both brands feel somewhat cheap. I feel like radio triggers are in general overpriced for the technology that they utilize, so why not get the less overpriced "premium" brand.
BUT, if you are more interested in fashionable photography products or if you are a professional who really needs to stretch the limits of a trigger, go for the PockeWizards. They are the industry standard. Otherwise, save your money and spend it on more important things.
Also, like others have noted, the reason the first poster coulnd't sync at anything above 1/250th of a second is because his camera's top sync speed was probably 1/250th of a second (eg. my D200's top sync speed is 1/250th of a second).

This is perfect for what I do(astrophotography). The only reason i gave it four staars was that the autofocus can be a little sluggish but you can hardly notice it. Great value for a great lens.

It fits so easily into a camera bag and is great for travel and just having a all-around general purpose lens with a great zoom...it's really like having 2 lenses in 1! (a 28-80mm, and a 70-200mm zoom lens). I really don't notice any aberrations in the picture quality, and it works just fine with the Nikon camera body. The only supposed drawback is that Nikon camera bodies purport to use a "3D Matrix Metering" system that allows distance to be used to enhance picture quality (and that feature only works on Nikon G and D lenses), but the pictures that I've taken in the automatic mode of the camera look pretty good. Anyway, to sum it up:
1. 2 lenses in 1
2. *very* compact, fits almost anywhere!
3. great price
4. good optics

Zeikos ZE-2X52B 52mm 2X Telephoto Lens Review

(More customer reviews)As another reviewer stated, these lenses are built well. They come with their own pleather carrying case and lens caps, which is nice. If you want, you can even thread a 58mm (or possibly 62mm) filter on the other end. The lenses themselves are "multi-coated" simply meaning that they have an Anti-Reflective coating put on them to reduce ghosting and lens flare. The glass appears very clear to the naked eye, and the overall build quality is excellent.
Now for the performance. If you have a dSLR camera and your only lens is a "standard" 18mm-55mm focal length, this telephoto attachment should work for you. However, the clarity of the lens is less than perfect. Even when focused as perfectly as possible, there is still a little softness to the image, however, it DOES magnify the image as stated. There is also a little bit of chromatic and barrel distortion around the periphery of the image at 55mm (82mm in 35mm equivalent).
If you are trying to use this lens with a longer telephoto zoom lens, you will be disappointed. The focal length of this 2x adapter is shorter than most telephoto zooms. By that, I mean that you can probably focus it with up to about a 100mm (original) lens (give or take). But if you try to use it with a 200mm telephoto zoom, you will find that you cannot focus it at all. In fact, through some experimentation, I discovered that by moving the adapter about 5" away from the end of the camera lens at 200mm, the focus point then moved to the middle of the focus range and I could then take a picture. However, at this distance, the barrel distortion became so great that the picture was unusable. Also, the fuzziness that was mentioned at the shorter focal length lens is also magnified with the longer lens.
In conclusion, I would say that if you only have a "standard" zoom lens, or a short telephoto lens, this adapter will work for you, albeit in a limited manner. If however you are expecting to multiply an already long tele-zoom lens to 300mm or more, don't waste your money.

After hooking up a Kingwin 610 watts power supply and an old Plextor PX-716a DVD burner along with the Pentium D everything ran fine. Installed the software that came with this board and upgraded the Bios to the latest one. I wasn't satisfied with the Pentium D's horrible video file conversion capabilities so took it out and was wondering what to do....return the board, memory, power supply and case and build a more powerful system?....then I realized this board supports the new 45nm Core 2 Quads....so I ordered the Q9550 2.83Ghz from amazon. This motherboard runs my Q9550 along with OCZ DDR2 1066mhz flawlessly and even overclocks it very well. Four stars for only providing 2 sata ports and no raid support.
